From 1996, I’m the city carillonneur at Ypres. The carillon has 49 (bells initially 36 bells casted in 1934 by Michiels and in 1963 towards 49 bells by Petit & Fritsen in 1963). The instrument was restored in 2012 and is placed in the Belfry at the Cloth Hall on the market place..
On saturday, there is weekly a concert from 2 till 3 pm and on special occasions (Armistice, ANZAC-Day, Christmas,…)
From 2008, I’m also the city carillonneur at Poperinge. The carillon has 47 bells casted by Paccard (Fr.). The instrument is placed in the campanile of the Bertinus church on the market place.
